Hột vịt lộn

Hột vịt lộn is a developing duck embryo dish. IT is the snack of Vietnamese. This kind of food are served in China, Korea, Japan, Philippines and Cambodia. 

As traditional style, Hột vịt lộn are boiled and eaten with a pinch of salt, lemon juice, plus ground pepper, laksa leaves (rau răm) and chilli for reducing the fishy smell. Vietnamese like Hột vịt lộn not only good taste but also the medicine for illness body recovery.



Nowaday, Hột vịt lộn are fried with fish sauce or tamarind sauce. Some people like put Hột vịt lôn into hot pot for more sweet. 



Almost of Vietnamese believe the unlucky things will be gone after eat 1 or 3 or 5 Hột vịt lộn. But the special thing is the shell must be broken.

Bánh cuốn (rolled rice pancake)

Bánh cuốn is the members of noodle family. Like all the rolled things, Bánh cuốn is rolled with minced pork and mushrooms. The cover of bánh cuốn is the paper-thin steamed rice flour pancake.

To serve bánh cuốn, put 2 or 3 rolls on the dish, cut into bite sized sections and top some fried shallots and fresh herbs such as cilantro or Vietnamese basil.
To eat bánh cuốn, dip a section of rolled noodle goodness into the accompanying fish sauce, brightened with a squeeze of fresh lime.

Bánh cuốn are often eaten with chả quế (roasted cinnamon sausage), nem (fermented pork dish) and bánh tôm (fried shrimp pastry)
